A wealth map of the UK shows that if you want to meet a rich partner you should live in London, Hampshire and Yorkshire, followed by Surrey adn Middlesex. Lancashire is not far behind in sixth place. The survey from Barclays Wealth shows that 13 per cent of the countries richest individuals live in London and 8 per cent live in Hampshire. Cheshire, in 11th position, may have been bolstered by its popularity with footballers. Midloathian and Dunbarton make it into the top 20 at numbers 13 and 18.

The survey found that you are less likely to inherit your wealth and business success is the where the money is at. Britain has the highest concentration of high new worth households of all the countries in the G7 group of major industrialised nations.
