07/06/2007 - Fixed rate deals coming to an end
The popularity of remortgaging that emerged during the second quarter of 2005 will mean that up to one million home owners will need to renew their home loan as their current fixed deal comes to an end. The brokers at The Mortgage Bureau estimate that around 178,000 homeowners opted for a two year fixed deal between April and June in 2005 alone. At that time the best fixed rate deals would have been set at 4.99 with an arrangement fee of £389. Today the reals are more likely to be loaded with a £1,499 arrangement fee and be fixed at 4.99%.
