Mortgage Company fined - Cheap Mortgage Deals
07/12/2006 - FSA fines mortgage company
The FSA has issued its first fine for cold calling, under new regulations adopted by the finance industry last October. Capital Mortgage Connections generated almost 85 per cent of its business by cold calling. The fine, £17,500, took into consideration the company's failures when selling Accident, Sickness and Unemployment (ASU) policies. The company could not prove that it had advised its customers of a cheaper monthly option than the one they offered which was sold on a single basis.
