01/12/2006 - Baltic states see big rise in prices
A report out by the European Mortgage Federation (EMF), has released statistics that point to a rise in prices for home owners in the Baltic countries whilst others such as Britain and Spain along with Malta and France have seen a slowing down. In 2005 Baltic countries such as Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia came out top for mortgage growth with rate of 94, 80 and 97 respectively the EMF reported. Ireland was just behind Greece which showed a rise in mortgage growth of 33 per cent. Latvia's house prices soared by nearly 50 per cent.
